Beverly Harris McCloskey

Beverly Harris McCloskey, 85, of Niles, passed away at 2:55 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 at Mercy Health Boardman ER with family by her side.

Beverly was born on June 10, 1938, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, the daughter of George Francis Harris and Clara Wardeska Harris. She dedicated 33 years of her life to employment at Packard Electric, eventually retiring. She was an active member of the First Christian Church of Niles where she served as an Elder and Deacon and involved with the Lydia Circle and the Knotty Girls.

Known for her sociable nature, Beverly was a true social butterfly. She found joy in activities such as bowling, golfing, snow skiing, and crocheting. Family vacations and lakeside gatherings were cherished memories for her. An avid sport's fan, she loved cheering for the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeye football teams.

A pillar of strength, Beverly devoted her life to caring for her family. She was a deeply loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife. She leaves behind her husband, Thomas McCloskey, whom she married on July 15, 1972. She is survived by her son, Randy (Alison) McCloskey of Lake Milton, OH; two daughters, Cindy Hamilton of Chattanooga, TN and Marilyn McCloskey of St. Petersburg, FL; two stepdaughters, Michelle Hacker of Howland, OH and Marci McCloskey Schwemer of Sarasota, FL. Beverly’s 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren were a constant source of joy in her life.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marilyn Herman and daughter Connie McCloskey-Vucco.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 28 at Holloway-Williams Funeral Home, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles, Ohio followed by a service to commemorate her life.

Beverly’s final resting place will be at Niles City Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved daughter.

Beverly will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the love she shared with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
