David Thomas Filipcich

David Thomas Filipcich Sr., 64, died at 11:51 a.m., on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.

He was born April 8,1954, in Warren, Ohio, the son of Mike and Susie Pellino Filipcich.

He was a 1972 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and was a graduate of St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. He attended Akron University, YSU and McKim Technical in Akron.

David was a Pediatric Registered Nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Akron Children’s Hospital for 24 years, retiring in 2010.

He was a member of the Four Mile Run Christian Church and enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking and his dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Porter Filipcich, whom he married on May 21, 1977, three sons, David T. Filipcich Jr. of Vienna; Raymond V.(Tabitha) Filipcich of Howland; Daniel A. Filipcich of Warren; a brother, Michael Filipcich of Cortland;  and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Filipcich.

As per David’s wishes, there are no calling hours or services.
