Agnes “Withers” Beck, 87, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024, at Hospice of the Valley (Hospice House).
She was born October 31, 1936, in Richmond, Virginia, the daughter of the late Dr. J. Manning Potts Sr. and Agnes Wright Potts.
She attended George Peabody College (now Vanderbilt University) before moving to Warren, Ohio. Withers was a member of Howland Methodist Church. She was a avid decorative painter and a big Indians/Guardians fan.
Withers is survived by her children, George A. (Gloria) Beck Jr., Catherine (Michael) Hildack and Susan (William) Vardavas; a brother, J. Manning Potts (Joy); grandchildren, George A. Beck III, Eileen Beck, Cadee (Michael) Pelyak, Christie (Derick) Rapczak, Callie Vardavas, and Christopher Vardavas; two great-grandchildren, James Pelyak and Emma Rapczak; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by George A. Beck Sr. and two brothers, Rev. Reginald H. Potts III and Joseph Christian Potts.
As per Withers' request, private family services were held.
Her family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley for their exceptional care and compassion. Charitable contributions can be made in memory of Withers to Hospice of the Valley (Hospice House).
