I’m Donna Perry, born in Warren, Ohio, the oldest child of Murel Robison and Betty Davis Robison on May15, 1938.
I’ve chosen to write my own obituary to do it my way.
I met Vernon Perry on Tuesday, September 2, 1947, the first day of 4th grade at Howland grade school, back when schools all started the Tuesday after Labor Day. Two years later in September 1949, my family moved to Florida. Ten years after moving to Florida, Vernon and I were married at Howland Community Church. We were together for 52 years until he passed away on November 22, 2011.
Both of us worked at and retired from Packard Electric. I was one of the people who took 6th graders from Warren to Packard to work on the conveyor lines and worked on the newspaper. Packard was a great place to work.
After Vernon’s death, I began volunteering for HOTV and made about over 500 afghans for hospice patients and donated afghans to Warm Up America and made baby afghans for the dedication services for Grace Church.
My other passion was genealogy. I was a member of the Trumbull County Genealogy Society and had many ancestors in Trumbull County dating back to 1804. I held memberships in Ohio Society of Genealogy and was a member of DAR.
Two words describe my life, “Forgiven” and “Blessed”, those who know me understand and the meaning in this.
I was a member of Elsworth Community Church and cherished my morning devotions. Monday to Friday, I prayed for one of our five children. Saturday was for grandchildren; Sunday was for great grandchildren.
I am survived by two daughters, Kathy (Walter) Beach, Tammy (Jimmy) Barnes and a son Dale (Wan) Perry, fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Vernon and I also raised two other sons.
Preceding me in death besides my husband and parents were a brother, Ronald Robison and a sister, Betty Rausch.
I departed this life on August 6, 2024, and believe I will spend eternity with my God and Savior, because the Bible says so.
Per my wishes, there will be no services. Cremation has taken place.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Holloway-Williams Funeral Home & Cremation service, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles, Ohio. 330-652-2422.
