Dorothy M. Durig

Dorothy M. Durig, 86, of Niles died Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 9:15 p.m. at  Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Niles.

She was born May 25, 1928 in Niles, Ohio, the daughter of Harry & Vera Thornhill Shelley.

A life long area resident, Dorothy was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School, class of 1947. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, bingo and metal detecting.

She is survived by her husband John A. Durig, whom she married on December 25, 1949, her daughter Sandra Lee Durig of Warren and a sister Shirley DiCerni of Niles.

As per Dorothy’s wishes, there are no calling hours. A private family service will take place at a later date.

Interment will be in Niles City Cemetery.
