Gary Gene Garretson

 Gary Gene Garretson, 68, of New Castle, Pa., passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center, following respiratory failure.

Gary was born May 8, 1950, in New Castle, Pa., a son of Walter and LaVerne Garretson.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and after he was honorably discharged, he was employed in car sales. He was of the Catholic faith.

Gary is survived by his children, Shaun A. Garretson of East Liverpool and Christie K. (Robert J. ) Plizga Sr. of Warren; grandchildren, Robert J. Plizga Jr., Michael J. Plizga and Kaitlyn M. Plizga; his mother, LaVerne; siblings, Jay (Elaine) Garretson, Laura (Ron) Adams and Ginger (Donald) Stoner; and eight nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Walter.

Friends will be received 12:30 p.m., prior to the funeral Mass at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Blessed Sacrament Church, Warren.
