Harold R. Hale, 79, of Niles died Monday May 11, 2015 at 3:55 p.m. at Hospice House in Poland.
Harold was born August 23, 1935, in McDonald, Ohio, the son of Joseph and Phoebe N. Knee Hale.
A life long area resident, Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Con Rail Railroad Co. in 1985, where he was a conductor, after 30 years of service.
Harold was of the Christian faith, enjoyed his Christian TV shows, where his faith in the Lord became stronger in his later years. He enjoyed boating and camping with his family. A jack of all trades, he could repair and fix most anything in his garage. The time that he got to spend with his three granddaughters was very special to him.
He is survived by his wife Connie M. Edmondson Hale, whom he married on October 8, 1955, two sons, Harold R. Hale Jr. of Masury, Ohio; William D. (Loretta) Hale of Niles, Ohio; a daughter, Sharon L. Kiraly of North Jackson, Ohio; three granddaughters, Aubrey M. Hale, Paije M. Kiraly, Braley L. Hale and a brother Joseph Hale of Greeley, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Joseph A. Hale and three brothers, Alfred, Bernard and Kenneth Hale.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 13 at 1 p.m. at the Holloway-Williams Funeral Home, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles, Ohio, 330-652-2422, with Pastor Boyd Elliot officiating. Family and friends may call from noon till the time of service.
Interment will be in Niles City Cemetery.
