James A. Ashworth Sr.

James A. Ashworth Sr., 66, of Warren died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at 12:48 AM at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. James was born July 13, 1948, in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of Denver W. Ashworth Sr. and Jane Fauber. He was a graduate of West Tech High School in Cleveland, Ohio. James devoted his life to serving his country for more than 21 years as a veteran of the U.S. Army, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. He served in the Vietnam War with the First Calvary, was a Drill Instructor at Fort Knox, Kentucky and was a Recruiter. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. James is survived by his wife Alice Belanger Ashworth, whom he married on September 27, 1996, sons Gregory Ashworth of Kentucky, James A. Ashworth Jr. of Boardman, Ohio, step-son Brian Salisbury of Warren, Ohio, brothers Denver W. (Betty) Ashworth Jr. of Morgantown, West Virginia, Robert L. (Terry) Ashworth of Parma, Ohio, sisters Delores (Rich) Davis of Fort Myers, Fl., Norma McCarthy of Canfield, Ohio, Linda (Marvin) Frame of Niles, Ohio, Donna (Pat) Ashworth of Sanibel Island, Fl. and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Markeita Ashworth Clark. Funeral Services will be held at 4 PM Monday January 5th, at the Holloway-Williams Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles, Ohio. Calling hours will Monday January 5th from 2 PM till time of service. James will be honored for his faithful and dedicated service to his country with the observance of military honors at the funeral home at 2:30 PM.
