Jessica M. Soda Pegg

Jessica M. Soda Pegg, 80,  of Niles, passed away Thursday January 8, 2026, at her residence with her loving family by her bedside.

She was born May 16, 1945, in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of Jess and Mary Dara Soda.

Jessica was a member of St. Pope John XXIII Parish of Niles, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Campus. She attended Bliss college in Columbus, Ohio and was a graduate of the Choffin School of Nursing. She worked in private nursing and in long term care at Autumn Hill Nursing Home.

She enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, and tending to her flowers. The time that she spent with her family, especially her five angels, was very dear to her.

Jessica is survived by her son, James Lavelle (Lynn) Pegg Jr. of Vienna, Ohio; her two daughters, Stephanie (Jeff) Masters of Niles, Ohio and  Shelly (Augusto) Ventura of Cortland, Ohio; her brother, Steve Soda of Niles; sister in-law Janet Soda of Niles; and five grandchildren, her “Angels,” Alexander, Taylor, Marissa, Jimmy and Jared.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Lavelle Pegg Sr., whom she married November 26, 1966 and who passed March 21, 2016; two brothers, Joe Soda Jr. and Charlie Soda; a sister, Susan Soda Junkins; and her sister-in-law, Joan Soda.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 15 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Campus.

Family and friends may call Wednesday, January 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 15, at the Holloway-Williams Funeral Home, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles, Ohio. 330-652-2422.

Entombment will be in All Souls Cemetery.
