Joseph C. Downey Jr.

Joseph C. Downing Jr., 63, of Niles passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 at his residence of natural causes.

He was born October 27, 1953, in Warren, Ohio, the son of Joseph C. and Phyllis Jones Downing Sr.

A life-long area resident, Joseph was retired from the construction business, where he worked as a laborer. He enjoyed meeting his friends at Shorty’s and the NAUS Club.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Bridget J. Steele Downing, whom he married on December 31, 2007, two sons, Justin Downing of Warren Township, Cody Downing at home, his mother, Phyllis Downing and a sister, Karen Sullivan of Niles.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Susan Downing, who died in 1999.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 25, 2017 at 7 p.m., at the Holloway-Williams Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles, Ohio.

Calling hours will be from 6 p.m. until the time of service.
