Monte A. Bellew, 83, of Belpre, Ohio, formerly of Mineral Ridge, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital Canton from injuries sustained from an auto accident.
He was born May 6, 1940, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, the son of Clifford and Florence Carpenter Bellew.
He was a graduate of Mineral Ridge High School in 1958. Following high school, he served his in country in the U.S. Air Force. Monte then worked for General Motors in Lordstown as a utility person on the line, retiring after 30 years of service.
Monte was a dedicated member of The Celebration Center in Belpre, Ohio. He was a past president of the Belpre Area Ministries, providing assistance to people in need, as well as volunteering his time in the Belpre area. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and Guardians.
Monte is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Michael) Arroyo of Tempe, Arizona; his two sons, Timothy Bellew of Howland, Ohio and Thomas A. Bellew of Mitchell, South Dakota; his sister, Elaine Minnich of Lorain, Ohio; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Daniel Bellew.
A celebration of Monte’s life will be held The Celebration Center, Belpre, Ohio, on June 8, 2024 at 1 p.m.
