Norma J. Hofius, a long-time resident of Mineral Ridge, died Thursday, the 14th of March 2019 at The Grand, a Senior Living Center in Dublin, Ohio at the age of 89.
She was born September 1, 1929, in Warren, Ohio. She was the daughter of Elmer and Dorothy Fisher of Niles, Ohio. Norma is survived by two brothers, Richard (Barbara) Fisher of Leesburg, Fla., and Donald Fisher of Niles. She is preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Otstot Elston of Marrietta, Ohio.
Norma graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1947. She attended Ohio Wesleyan and graduated from Youngstown State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education in 1969.
She married the love of her life, Donald R. Hofius, in Niles on June 17, 1949.
She was the devoted and loving mother to Randi (Charles) Mascari and the late Gary Houk of Dublin, Ohio, Debra (Robert) Schofield of El Dorado Hills, Calif., Kimberly (Ron) Davis, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Patricia (Dale) Bugay of Dublin, Ohio..
She was loved and cherished by her grandchildren. Brenen (Lisa) Miller, Shannon (Benjamin) Stenberg, Lyndsey (Bryan) Bonetti, Donald (Amanda) Miller, Ronald Davis II, Dale (Emily) Bugay Jr., Lexi Bugay, Robert Schofield Jr., Todd (Becky) Davis, Brad (Kelly) Davis, Katie (Aaron) Gausepohl. and her great grandchildren, Garrick and William Stenberg, Ethan and Hunter Miller, Landyn and Ryann Miller, Aubrey and Brayden Bonetti, Austin and Alex Davis, Shawn and Samantha Davis and Addison Gausepohl.
Norma spent quality time raising her four daughters and spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were her heart and joy. Don and she enjoyed traveling in their motor home and vacationing with their children and grandchildren until he passed away in May of 2000. She enjoyed life to the fullest and blessed all those in her presence. She was loved and cherished by her family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Holloway-Williams Funeral Home, 611 Robbins Avenue, Niles, Ohio. 330-652-2422.
