Paul M. Davis, 85, of Niles, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024, at Shepherd of the Valley Liberty.
He was born October 18, 1938, in Warren, Ohio, the son of Howard J. and Healen White Davis.
Paul was a member of St. Stephen Church in Niles and was a Veteran of the US Army. He worked in engineering at Wean United, Syro Steel and Packard Electric. After retirement, Paul kept active as a bus aide at the Fairhaven school and worked at Blue Dolphin Pools.
Paul was on the Senior Services Advisory Council member, appointed by the Trumbull County Commissioners in 2017. He was instrumental in forcing changes to the Senior Levy that funded transportation.
Growing up on the southside of Niles, his many friends and him would play baseball and ride their bikes at the slag dump. He was a member of Eastland AC, where he had a beer and argued with his friends. He was a traveling baseball umpire, ran the Niles Youth League for several years and coached his daughters softball team. He was a great Notre Dame fan and was a supporter of all the local sports teams. His biggest love was for his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the time that he spent with them was very precious to him.
Paul and his wife Ann loved to travel, from the east coast to the west coast of America, visiting relatives in Ireland and they visited every major league baseball stadium in the country.
Paul will be missed by his loving wife Ann Campfield Davis, whom he married on December 31, 1960; his son, Michael Paul (Tiffany) Davis of Burleson, Texas; his four daughters, Jennifer Davis (Jory) Ramer of Cortland; Cindy (Monte) Duncan of Howland; Denise (Dave) Danielson of Niles; Bridget (Tony) D’Urso of Niles; two brothers, Charlie Davis of Niles and Jimbo (Janet) Davis of Cortland; a sister, Karen Berensci of Mineral Ridge; 11 grandchildren, Joey Flaviano, Jason (Alaina) Davis, Jory (Jennifer) Ramer, Nicolina (Dave Cross) Flaviano, Samii Ramer (Devan) Dickson, Brianna Duncan, Anthony D’Urso, Catherine D’Urso, Maria D’Urso, Gideon Davis, Gage Davis; six great-grandchildren, JJ Ramer, Patrick Davis, Cameron Cross, Benny Flaviano, Liam Davis and Coralynn Cross and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John Davis.
A Rite of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Holloway-Williams Funeral home & Cremation Service, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles, Ohio.
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
The burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. Olson for the care he provided for over forty years and the Renal Dialysis Center in Howland.
