Reinhild M. Pentz, 89, formerly of Niles, passed away at 10:55 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at Victoria House in Austintown.
She was born Sept. 16, 1928, in Wurzen, Germany, the daughter of Alois and Anna Zachhuber.
Reinhild was a very active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Warren.
Reinhild taught school in Europe and was a substitute teacher at St. Stephen School in Niles. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and playing the piano.
Her family meant everything to her, especially the memories, wisdom and life lessons she shared with her grandchildren.
Reinhild is survived by her three sons, Dr. Benjamin M. (Margaret) Pentz of Niles, Atty. Matthew A. (Connie) Pentz of Mineral Ridge and Dr. Anthony S. (Connie) Pentz of Canton; two brothers, Horst (Esther) Zachhuber and Klaus (Roswitha) Zachhuber, and a sister, Traude Zachhuber, all of Austria; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Andrew, Ryan, Anthony II, Kyle and Jonathan; and nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Andrew Pentz, whom she married in 1951 and who passed on June 20, 1998; and a brother, Sigmund Zachhuber.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1645 North Road NE, Warren, Ohio, 44483. Pastor Andrew Clark will officiate. Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at the Holloway-Williams Funeral Home, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles, and 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at the church. Interment will be in Niles City Cemetery.
The family request that material contributions be made in Reinhild’s name to the food pantry at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
