Richard “Rick” Lee Palmer II, loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Hospice of the Valley in Youngstown, Ohio on February 16, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on August 31, 1960, in Youngstown, Ohio to Richard and Marylou Palmer (Hammers), Richard was a long-time resident and native of Northeast Ohio, spending most of his years in the Mahoning Valley.
During his years attending Girard High School, Richard took great pleasure in competing on the baseball, football, and wrestling teams. After establishing and operating a successful business in Youngstown for nearly 25 years, he retired to enjoy traveling, reinforcing existing relationships and forging new ones. Richard was also an avid pool player and fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns football. His clever wit was always the highlight of conversation, bringing an overabundance of joy and amusement to any situation.
Richard is survived by his wife, Deborah (Cunningham) Palmer; children, Mellissa (Daniel) Mcallister, Richard Palmer III;, James Stinemire, Samuel Stinemire, Shane Palmer (fiancé Ashley Stein), Lisa (Rocky) Barrois, and Daniel (Jennifer) Stinemire; grandchildren, Alivia, Lucian, Daisy, Jasper, Ian and Anna; mother, Marylou (Hammers) Palmer; siblings, Jeff (Angela) Palmer and Kelly (Will) Smith; three nieces and two nephews; as well as a large extended family and many close friends. He is predeceased by his father, Richard Lee Palmer.
Richard remained consistently steadfast in his care and attention to his family and friends throughout his lifetime. While he found a great deal of happiness pursuing his hobbies, his primary source of pleasure came from instilling life’s most important lessons in those around him, particularly his children and grandchildren. Richard’s impeccable strength, patience and compassion formed an extraordinary legacy that will continue to live on through those closest to him.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Holloway-Williams Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles, Ohio 330-652-2422
