Robert P. Granny Sr.

Robert P. Granny Sr., 80, of Niles, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital Downtown.

He was born July 24, 1943, in Girard, Ohio, the son of Patsy and Frances Pastella Granny.

Bob was a member of St. Stephen Church in Niles and worked at R.M.I. as a roller for 36 years, retiring in 2002, after which he volunteered his time at Mobile Meals and at the St. Vincent dePaul Society.

Bob was a very active person, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Cleveland sports teams, Browns, Cavs, Guardians, going on casino trips and playing poker. He got his greatest enjoyment by spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Anna Marie Cinalli Granny, whom he married on May 13, 1983; his son, Robert P. (Monica) Granny Jr. of Howland, Ohio; his daughter, Marie (James) Mount of Cincinnati, Ohio; four step-sons, Todd (Debra) Pownell of Cleveland, Ohio, Greg (Lori) Pownell of Cincinnati, Ohio, Steve Pownell of Poland, Ohio and Travis Pownell of Youngstown, Ohio; step-daughter Regina (Kevin) Helmick of Niles, Ohio; a sister, Shirley Howley of Jefferson, Ohio;  and 11 grandchildren, Bethany Granny, Anthony Granny, Robbie Granny, Hayden Granny, Sophia Mount, Charlotte Mount, Sam Pownell, Chase Pownell, Cole Pownell, Felix Pownell and Kasen Helmick.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, John Granny.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 20 at Saint Pope John XXIII Church, St. Stephen Campus. There is no procession from the funeral home; family and friends are kindly asked to go directly to the church.

Calling hours will be Friday, July 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Holloway-Williams Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles, Ohio. 330-652-2422

Inurnment will be in Niles City Cemetery.
