Robert M. Seivert, 75, of Niles, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Hospice House in Poland, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 5, 1950, in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of John and Margaret (Brown) Seivert.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. Following his military service, he worked at Packard Electric as a line worker until his retirement.
Robert’s greatest joy was his family. Being a devoted grandfather meant the world to him. He loved spending time tinkering around the house and enjoyed taking long walks with his friends and their dogs.
Robert is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 56 years, Mary Cunningham Seivert, whom he married on February 1, 1969. He leaves behind two cherished daughters, Carrie McQuaid (fiancé Josh Kelly) and Terri Lynn (Brian) Strickland, both of Youngstown, Ohio. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Justin, Ryan, Jason McQuaid, and Madison Scott. Robert is also survived by his sister-in-law, Deborah Palmer; his dear friend, Frank Melidona; and his faithful walking companions, Tom, Mark, and Barkley. He leaves behind several siblings, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Rick Palmer, and his faithful dog Rusty.
In keeping with Robert’s wishes, no formal services will be held. He asked that family and friends remember him as he was in life — sharing laughter, love, and simple moments together. He hoped his memory would remind everyone to treasure time with loved ones, as life is truly precious and fleeting.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Holloway-Williams Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles, Ohio. 330-652-2422. Visit www.hollowaywilliamsfuneralhome.com to view this obituary and send condolences to the Seivert family.
