Ronald D. Orr

Ronald D. Orr, 67, of Niles, passed away at 10:16 a.m., Thursday, September 6, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, following a hard, courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

He was born May 20, 1951, in Tyler County, West Virginia, the son of James R. and Doris Jean Inbody Orr.

Ronald worked for Packard Electric for 32 years as a tow motor operator. After he retired, he worked for 2 years at Safelite Auto Glass.

He was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Niles. He enjoyed golf, watching westerns, driving in his truck and vacationing. He was a huge fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Ronald had a tremendous sense of humor and loved being a jokester. He enjoyed spending time with his family and sharing memories and life lessons with his children and grandchildren.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Diane Baughman Orr, whom he married on May 8, 1976, a son, Ronald J. (Kristy) Orr of Newton Falls, Ohio, a daughter, Amy (Andy) Sowers of Girard, Ohio, a sister, Debbie (Larry) Dickey of Southington, Ohio, four grandchildren, Alexandria Orr, Addison Sowers, Alex Sowers, Avery Sowers and three brothers-in-laws, David (Laurie) Baughman of Mansfield, Texas, Dan (Ann) Baughman of Niles, Ohio and Don Baughman of Warren, Ohio, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2018, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Niles. Calling hours will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
