Vernon Lee Cayten, 76, of Niles passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Shepherd of the Valley Liberty following a short illness.
Vernon was born August 3, 1948, in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Allen Dewey and Mona Mildred Stephens Cayten. He was one of nine children.
Vernon was employed as a truck driver for Preston Trucking for thirty years before becoming an owner-operator with his son, Jonathan, for another ten years. Vernon was of the Pentecostal faith and loved cooking and spending time with his family.
Vernon is survived by his two sons, James (Becky) Cayten of Alvaton, Kentucky, Jonathan Cayten of Niles and was a proud grandfather to three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Richard.
Private memorial and burial to be held at Niles City Cemetery.
